Central Care has an exciting full time position for an experienced Support Worker. This position is to work for a housing association based in Richmond.
The charitable housing association has an outstanding reputation for providing accommodation, including care and specialist services, to vulnerable people where the emphasis is on helping them to live independently.
The role of the support worker is to provide accommodation based and floating support.
Duties will include:
- Providing a range of support, including emotional and practical support
- Creating support/ action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available.
- Supporting customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation.
- Empowering customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have 1 years experience within a similar role.
- Have experience of key working and the ability to offer guidance, advice and support to residents/tenants, taking emergency action where appropriate.
-Have ability to manage a caseload
- Have an understanding of the complex needs and problems of Homeless people with Mental Health needs
- Enjoy social interaction and the company of others and have experience of joining in local activities to encourage customer involvement.
- Be motivated towards excellence and improvement of personal performance with a can do attitude.
- Have a relevant training
